At last night’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting, and in accordance with the Kiowa Town Charter, a vacancy was formally declared, and a resolution was passed approving that declaration. Following nomination and a unanimous vote of the Board, Mayor Pro Tem and interim Mayor Tammy Hart was formally appointed to serve as Mayor through the upcoming election in November.
The news our community has been waiting for is finally here — work to replace the Kiowa Bridge will officially begin on March 9th!
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard will be in Kiowa this Thursday, January 29, at 10:00 a.m. to ceremonially fly two American flags in front of Kiowa Town Hall. These flags will later be presented to Mayor Howard’s family at her memorial services on February 7.
