At last night’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting, and in accordance with the Kiowa Town Charter, a vacancy was formally declared, and a resolution was passed approving that declaration. Following nomination and a unanimous vote of the Board, Mayor Pro Tem and interim Mayor Tammy Hart was formally appointed to serve as Mayor through the upcoming election in November.
While this is an important step forward for our community, it is also a bittersweet moment. Mayor Hart served side by side with Mayor Howard during their time on the Town Board and shared not only a professional partnership but a close personal friendship outside the boardroom. She is honored to continue the work Mayor Howard began and remains committed to serving the residents of our town with dedication and integrity.
Looking ahead to November, there will be five Trustee positions and the Mayor position open on the ballot.
Please join us in supporting Mayor Hart as she steps into this role in service to our community.
