The Kiowa Water and Wastewater Authority Board invites those interested to attend a two-hour live online course that provides an overview of water administration, well permitting, and water rights in Colorado.
Overview of Course: The course will cover a brief history of water administration in Colorado and the prior appropriation system. It will also cover the different adjudicatory and administrative bodies within Colorado and their roles. Lastly, it will cover the different types of well permits, their eligibility requirements, and allowed uses. This course provides tools to find well permits, identify the allowed uses of well permits or water rights, determine whether an augmentation plan is required, and other related concepts.
The Colorado Division of Water Resources (CDWR) offers this virtual course on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, and viewing is hosted by the KWWA here at Kiowa Town Hall (404 Comanche Street).
Realtors, brokers, title company representatives, consultants, and anyone from the general public are welcome to join. Two hours of continuing education credit are available for realtors and water well contractors.
