Special Meeting/Work Session Agenda 
May 28, 2025 - 6 pm

Invocation

Pastor Kevin Weatherby gave the invocation prior to the start of the meeting. 

Call to Order

Mayor Howard called the special joint meeting of the Board of Trustees and the Kiowa Planning Commission to order on May 28, 2025, at 6:04 PM. 

Roll Call

The town's elected officials were present: Mayor Howard, Mayor Pro Tern Hart, Trustee Shafer, Trustee Wineland, and Trustee Smith. Trustee Stahl was absent. 

Present from the Planning Commission: Chairperson Frenzel, Co-chair Lane, Commissioner Mizak, Commissioner Lane, Commissioner Rafferty, and Commissioner Kalisch was present via Zoom.

Kim Boyd, Town Administrator 
Sasha Davidson, Town Clerk 
Susie Ellis, Code Enforcement 
Joey Kuhns, local business and property owner 
Alex Aguirre, local business owner 

Work Session

PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE TOWN OF KIOWA ZONING CODE, CHAPTER 16, ARTICLE XIV - SIGN CODE
Both the Town Board and the Town Planning Commission discussed revisions to the Town Sign Code. Areas identified for revision will return to the Planning Commission for further discussion at the next regularly scheduled meeting in June.

No business was conducted, no decisions were made, nor was any direction given to staff.

Adjourn

Trustee Shafer made the motion to adjourn at 7:28 pm. Commissioner Mizak seconded, and the motion carried 11-0 with no discussion.
