Town of Kiowa Board of Trustees Special Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
The special meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Kiowa was called to order on August 25, 2022, at 7:00 PM by Mayor Kolm.
Roll Call
Present: Mayor Kolm, Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Tapp, Director Jonathon Shafer, Director Tim Chambers, Director Terry Howard, and Director Carey Kalisch. Absent: Director Trevor Smith.
The Town of Kiowa had a quorum to conduct business.
Town Administrator: Kimberly Boyd
Town Clerk: Tasha Chevarria
Guests: Ruth Borne with Ruth 0. Borne Law Firm who appeared via Zoom.
Pledge of Allegiance
Mayor Kolm led the audience in the pledge of allegiance.
Agenda Consent
Director Shafer made the motion to approve the special meeting agenda. Mayor Pro Tem Tapp seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Executive Session
Director Howard made the motion to leave the special meeting and move into executive session at 7:04 PM. Director Chambers seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Mayor Pro Tem Tapp made the motion to leave the executive session at 8:18 PM. Director Shafer seconded, and the motion carried 5-0.
Director Howard made the motion to go back into special meeting at 8:18 PM, Director Shafer seconded, and the motion carried 5-0. No discussion.
Director Howard made motion to instruct Ms. Boyd to seek funding from state agencies for a complete Town Code revision, Director Chambers seconded, and the motion carried 5-0. No discussion.
New Business
Director Shafer made motion for ratification of retention of Ruth Borne, Ruth 0. Borne Law Firm, as new general legal counsel to the Town, Director Howard seconded, and the motion carried 5- 0. No discussion.
Adjourn
Mayor Pro Tem Tapp made the motion to adjourn at 8:20pm. Director Kalisch seconded, and the motion carried 5-0 with no discussion.
