April 29, 2025 Water Plan Update Workshop

Call to Order

The special workshop meeting of the Kiowa Water and Wastewater Authority was called to order on April 29, 2025, at 11:02am by Secretary Duvall. 

Roll Call

Present: Director Bret Wager, Director Laurel Brown, Treasurer Teresa Parker and Secretary Jill Duvall. President Gabehart was absent. 

Also in attendance: 
Kim Boyd, Town Administrator 
Sasha Davidson, Town Clerk 

Workshop

1. Review of the DRAFT 2020 Water Plan
   
   The board reviewed the draft of the 2020 water plan, making suggestions for revisions on many areas throughout the text. There was some discussion about future projects that may come to pass and what those will mean for future water needs. Next, there were conversations about the distinction of ownership of water rights. Additionally, it was noted that due to the issues with transference of adjudicated water rights from the Town of Kiowa to KWWA, there were some extenuating circumstances dealing with water rights that might have to be dealt with in the future.

Secretary Duvall made the motion to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 12:04pm. 

The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 5:30pm at Kiowa Town Hall.
